Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool for processing and results. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email or contact submission as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive certain technical details when a page loads, including:
- Page-view times, pages visited, and time spent on them
- Your device's IP address
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and device category
- The referring website, when available
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. Along with analytics services, they help aggregate traffic patterns such as popular pages and exit points. You may block cookies in your browser, although doing so can change how some features operate.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating, maintaining, and improving site performance
- Routing a search request to the selected partner
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Understanding which guides visitors use
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not compile, maintain, or sell a database of personal criminal histories. The site explains how to approach Taylor County custodians, the Kentucky State Police centralized criminal-history system, the courts, and the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not turned into a consumer report or a record about another person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the site's search boxes. Information submitted through a box is subject to that company's privacy policy and its own retention and disclosure practices, which we do not control. Read the provider's policy before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to courts, law-enforcement offices, Kentucky agencies, legal-aid resources, or commercial search providers. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy terms apply, so review them before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to follow activity across websites for targeted advertising. We do not operate that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. It may be disclosed to:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Search partners processing a query submitted to their tool
- Advertising networks serving material on these pages
- A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
We use customary safeguards for information in our possession. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed completely secure, however, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Rights can vary with a visitor's location. The Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, governs access to records held by public agencies; KRS 17.150 and 17.151 govern access to and dissemination of specified law-enforcement and centralized criminal-history information. Those laws do not turn this private website into a public records custodian. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Request a copy of personal data we hold about you
- Ask that inaccurate personal data be corrected
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Object to certain processing when the law permits
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. A replacement takes effect when it is posted here with its updated effective date, so visitors should review the page periodically.
